MOCO 70% Qiviut / 20% Merino / 10% Silk
MOCO Qiviut by Caryll Designs offers this fine 70% Canadian Qiviut, 20% Australian Merino and 10% Cutivated Silk blend yarn in Lace weight yarn. This blended yarn provides a predominance of qiviut combined with extra strength and a subtle sheen that only merino and silk can provide. This is a superb choice for all your fine lace heirlooms.

This "Lace" weight 2ply, 2/18nm, 70/20/10 Qiviut/Merino/Silk blend is available in Natural in addition to 6 commercially dyed solid colors and 4 multi-colors hand-painted by Mountain Colors, Inc in Montana. Each skein weighs one ounce (28 grams) and is 300 yards (274 meters) in length. The colors in this blend are inherently slightly lighter tones than the 100% Qiviut yarns due to the percentage of white fibers.

This "Lace" weight yarn is actually a standard fine lace weight yarn that due to qiviut's natural "blooming" properties, can be worked on slightly larger needles much like any lace weight yarn. I recommend using needles size US 0-2 (2-2.75mm) for textured stitch patterns and needles size US 3-5 (3.25-3.75mm) for lace patterns. For crochet use hooks size A-C for textured patterns and size D-F for lace patterns.
